• Water promotes oxidation, so it's a good idea to remove your jewelry before you swim, sweat, shower...  
• Be gentle with your jewels. Direct contact with the fun things in hairspray, perfume and  some cosmetics can make your jewels not happy.
• Store your jewelry in a zippered baggie or pouch to keep oxygen away from your jewelry, on the rare occasion you are not wearing your Dogeared.
